As an educational therapist, I provide individualized, evidence-based reading intervention grounded in the Science of Reading. I support students across all foundational components of reading, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
Each student begins with a comprehensive assessment to identify strengths, areas of need, and underlying skill gaps. Using this information, I design a customized intervention plan that is targeted, systematic, and responsive to how the student learns best.
Instruction draws from a range of Orton-Gillingham–based and science-aligned programs, including Wilson Reading System, Lindamood-Bell, UFLI Foundations, and Explode the Code. This flexible approach allows me to meet students exactly where they are—whether they need intensive decoding support, stronger fluency, or help making meaning from text.
My goal is to help students become confident, capable readers by building skills systematically while honoring their individual learning profiles.

I provide individualized math support that helps students understand concepts deeply, build confidence, and successfully access their school-based curriculum. I am knowledgeable in a wide range of math programs commonly used in schools—including Math in Focus, Illustrative Mathematics, Primary Mathematics, Go Math, My Math, and Eureka Math—allowing me to help students engage effectively with the specific approach used in their classrooms.
Each student begins with an assessment of their current math skills to identify strengths, gaps, and any missing foundational knowledge. I then design targeted instruction to fill in essential foundational skills needed for success in current coursework. Depending on the student’s needs, sessions often focus on previewing upcoming material to build readiness or reviewing recently taught concepts to strengthen understanding and retention.
In addition to content support, I explicitly teach students how to study for math assessments, including how to organize notes, approach multi-step problems, recognize common question types, and check their work effectively.
I support students across all levels of math, from early number sense and foundational skills through advanced coursework such as Pre-Calculus. The goal is to help students develop both conceptual understanding and problem-solving confidence while reducing frustration and cognitive overload.

I provide structured, individualized writing support designed to help students express their ideas clearly, confidently, and with less frustration. Instruction focuses on narrative, expository, and informative writing, with an emphasis on making the writing process concrete, predictable, and manageable.
Students are taught through a systematic, step-by-step approach, drawing from evidence-based frameworks such as Step Up to Writing. By breaking writing into clear formulas and repeatable structures, students learn how to organize their thoughts, construct paragraphs, and develop ideas while reducing cognitive and mental load.
To further support independence, I introduce graphic organizers and planning tools that students can take into their classrooms. These tools help externalize thinking, support organization, and allow students to focus more fully on content and language rather than the mechanics of where to begin.
In addition to direct instruction, I collaborate with schools and families to support students in receiving appropriate writing accommodations, ensuring they are able to demonstrate their true capabilities in expressive language. The goal is not to lower expectations, but to remove barriers so students can show what they know.

Executive Functioning and Organization Support
Executive Functioning refers to the set of mental skills that act as the "management system" of the brain. While intelligence helps a student understand concepts, Executive Functioning helps them actually execute tasks.
Think of it as the conductor of an orchestra: the musicians (intelligence) know how to play, but the conductor (executive functioning) tells them when to start, stop, and work together.
Key Skills We Focus On:
The "Performance Gap"
Many bright students fall into the "Performance Gap," the frustrating space between what they know and what they can show. They may be labeled as "lazy" or "unmotivated," but often they simply lack the external tools to manage their internal workload.
Bridging the Gap
Our approach -and the custom tools we create, like the Nightly Planning Memo Pad and Academic Planner- is designed to bridge this gap. By externalizing time and structure, we reduce the cognitive load, allowing your student’s true intelligence to shine through.
